Remarks Occurs in lakes, ponds and sluggish pools of headwaters, creeks and small rivers usually over silt and near vegetation. Probably feeds on insects, crustaceans, and plankton (Ref. 1998, 12077); also feeds on diatoms (Ref. 12077).
