Max. size:  3.3 cm SL (male/unsexed); 3.5 cm TL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; pH range: 7; dH range: 10 - 2060
Distribution:  South America: Paraguay River basin, middle ParanĂ¡ River basin in Argentina, and the Uruguay River basin.
Biology:  Eggs are deposited on the ceiling of caves and are tendered primarily by the female parent (Ref. 47893).
