Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 0; Raggi anali molli: 0. Rays (7-8) present only in caudal fin. Pelvic fins tiny and vestigial sucking disk present. Color variable, from brown to green to orange, often bright; with or without spots or ocelli in series along sides.
