Diagnosis

Diagnosis: mouth subterminal; barbels absent; lateral line absent; 8 circumpeduncular scales (Ref. 81639).

Description: small; scales with radial striae; 2.5 scales between lateral line and dorsal fin origin; 4.5 scales between lateral line and mid-belly; 21-25 scales in longitudinal series; 3.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic fin insertion; D:III, 8; A:III, 5; dorsal fin border straight, last simple ray soft, smooth, measuring more or less HL (Ref. 81639).

Coloration: body ground color yellowish, with dorsal scales stippled with brown or with brown border; thin black line on flanks, often accompanied by bright orange line; base of caudal fin orange, otherwise fins pale or whitish (Ref. 81639).
